Overview
Recently, we were asked whether it would be possible if we could put CCTV Cameras on the exterior of a lighthouse and then monitor and see the footage from a different location?
Goal
The customer, a harbour board, wanted to keep an eye on safety, weather, tides and any other concerns while also allowing harbour users to check on their boats.
To achieve the customer's aim, we had to send the footage back to the office over a 0.6-mile distance approx.
Given the location , it was just impossible to run a wire. As a result, we needed to come up with a solution that would allow us to beam the footage back.
We needed a long-range internet connection, (no wires) and we planned to use a Ubiquiti UniFi NanoBeam to Beam it back Scotty.
Results
It’s a point to point or point to multi-point device. The NanoBeam directs RF energy (A radio frequency signal that uses a wireless electromagnetic signal used as a form of communication)

Conclusion
The client was really satisfied with the end result and the footage speaks for itself.
