Staff training is very important to any business and no less so for the team at Wire Wizards. Focusing on the finer details of entry level business CCTV systems, all that attended had an interesting time learning how to back-up stored video and the physical methods of connecting the systems to a broadband line for remote viewing on phones and computers.

The training session started with an overview of all the parts required to complete a full installation of four cameras all connected back to the new Apollo Compact which has the Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and web server built into the screen. This included how to use CAT5 cable, and why RG59+power (shotgun) can deliver great results and reduce installation time. Following on with, various different types of power solutions available, the team soon picked up the dos’ & don’ts of what is needed to put together to deliver a comprehensive business class cctv system.

After getting to grips with the different items that make up a complete system. Next was understanding the software that runs on the range of Zeus and Apollo DVR’s, which is one of the most intuitive operating systems used, so all the basic tasks required such as time searching to find a section of recording or saving the video files to a USB flash drive can be actioned with only a few clicks of a mouse.

Finishing the final part of the training with, how to setup remote viewing via the internet, including the basic rules for setting the smartphone apps and how to setup the software that comes with each system for viewing on a PC. The whole team is now more knowledgeable than ever, so if you have any questions before you decide which CCTV system to implement, contact us via the contact page and a team member will be happy to help.
